The School of New England Ballet Theatre is dedicated to ensuring ballet is accessible to everyone. We welcome students into a nurturing and supportive environment where they are encouraged to maximize their potential and further develop themselves as dancers and individuals. We foster and challenge their artistic and technical pursuits and support every dancer on their journey. We hold ourselves to high standards with exceptional education programs curated to excite the joy of movement within everyone.

The Lower School

Dancers in the Lower School are typically ages 2-11. Lower School class offerings include: Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Ballet 1 & 2, Pre-Pointe, Pointe 1 & 2, PBT 1/2, Jazz 1, Jazz 2/3, Contemporary 1 and Contemporary 2/3.

Students ages 6+ are eligible to audition to perform in main-stage productions.

Students ages 9+ are eligible to audition for the Trainee Program, the Pre-Professional Division and/or Competition Coaching.

The Upper School

Dancers in the Upper School are typically ages 11+. Upper School class offerings include: Ballet 3 & 4, Pointe 3 & 4, PBT 3/4, Jazz 2/3 & 4, and Contemporary 2/3 & 4.

All students are eligible to audition to perform in main-stage productions

All students are eligible to audition for the Trainee Program, the Pre-Professional Division and/or Competition Coaching.

The Trainee Program

 
The Trainee Program is a pre-professional program offering additional training and performance opportunities to promising young dancers.
 
Designed for students who want to supplement their home studio training this program runs only on Sundays during the school year from 10:00am-3:00pm. Students will be provided the experience necessary to dive deeper into their technical and artistic selves, while receiving personal attention in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Trainee Dancers must be age 9+.

The Pre-Professional Division

The Pre-Professional Division is an opportunity for full time students of NEBT to gain additional training and performance experience.

Incorporated into their curriculum is mandatory extracurricular classes designed to maximize their strength and diversify their portfolios as dancers.

These students can expect the most demanding curriculum and time commitment.


Pre-Professional Dancers must be 9+.

The Demi-Apprentice Program

For the aspiring professional dancer this program bridges the gap between student training and the professional life. The curriculum integrates both The School and The Company's schedules to eliminate deficiencies found in traditional post-grad training.

Upon completion of the Demi-Apprenticeship Program dancers are prepared to launch their careers into the professional realm with confidence and a solid technical and artistic foundation.

Demi-Apprentices must be 16+.
