Maia Atzemis

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Maia began her training at Cleveland City Dance (under Courntey Laves-Mearnini) before continuing her studies at Atlanta Ballet Academy and

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School’s Graduate Program. Most recently, she trained and performed as a trainee with Grand Rapids Ballet. Throughout her training and early professional career, Maia has performed a wide range of classical and contemporary repertoire, including George Balanchine’s Serenade, Les Sylphides, Swan Lake, and productions of The Nutcracker choreographed by Val Caniparoli, Terrance Orr, and Yuri Possokhov. She has also enjoyed performing works by Lew Christensen, Bruce Wells, and Houston Thomas. Beyond the stage, Maia is passionate about sharing the joy of dance through teaching and community engagement. She has worked with students of all ages and abilities teaching ballet and adaptive dance classes. Maia is incredibly grateful and excited to begin this new chapter with New England Ballet Theatre and looks forward to growing alongside the company as an artist.
