Avivah Kissick

Avivah Kissick is currently in her third season with New England Ballet Theatre, having previously danced for Portland Ballet and Lexington Ballet. Some of Avivah’s favourite roles which she has had the opportunity to perform include Lilac Fairy and Sapphire Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty; Odette in Swan Lake, Rosaline in Romeo and Juliet; the Snow Queen, Arabian, Marie, and the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker; and a soloist role in Living Room—a new contemporary work by John McFall. She has also had the opportunity to perform as a guest artist in various productions, including the Nutcracker with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and the opera Faust. In recent years, she has spent her summers working closely under Dominic Walsh in the Compass Coaching Project and Movement Lab, as well as studying Balanchine technique under Deborah Wingert and Megan Fairchild. Additionally, Avivah has had the privilege to study under the likes of Andrew Carr, Viki Bromberg Psihoyos, and Julia Wilkinson-Manley. More than anything else, Avivah is very thankful to all the wonderful people in her life who have helped her–and continue to help her–to achieve her dreams.
