The Demi-Apprenticeship Program

This program is designed as a one to two year commitment for the aspiring professional dancer. Focused on bridging the gap between student training and the professional life, the curriculum integrates both The School and The Company's schedules to eliminate deficiencies found in traditional post-grad training. Dancers will take classes in ballet technique, pointe, variations, repertoire, pas de deux and contemporary. Demi-Apprentices will also shadow the professional company and receive personal mentorship, career guidance, performance and choreographic opportunities and physical therapy affiliation and workshops.
Upon completion of the Demi-Apprenticeship Program dancers are prepared to launch their careers into the professional realm with confidence and a solid technical and artistic foundation.
The Schedule
Demi-Apprentices participate in daily morning company technique class and attend company rehearsals Monday-Friday. In addition, Demi-Apprentices train with the highest level of The School in the evenings and take classes in ballet technique, pointe, variations, repertoire, pas de deux and contemporary.
Performance Opportunities
Demi-Apprentices have the opportunity to learn company repertoire throughout the season and may be used for corps de ballet roles in company productions. Dancers will also have the opportunity to perform featured roles in The School's productions and outreach events.
What Makes This Program Unique?
To ensure that admissions are based solely on technical and artistic potential, The School of NEBT makes an investment in each admitted dancer so that no tuition is charged for their enrollment in the Demi-Apprenticeship Program.
