Victoria Manning is Director of The School of New England Ballet Theatre and a dancer with the professional company.

She found her passion for teaching while she was still in high school by assisting in the Young Dancers Program at Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre, where she trained from the ages of 3-18. After high school, she attended Indiana University. There she taught in the Pre-College Ballet Program her entire college career and gained experience with educating our youngest dancers from the ages of three, through the professional division, and even dancers in the adult dance program. After college she moved to Virginia to continue her professional career with Virginia National Ballet. In addition to being on faculty for the Virginia National Ballet School, she also taught dance education to preschool, kindergarten, and first graders throughout the Northern Virginia school system. Manning then accepted a contract with New England Ballet Theatre and immediately began sharing her love of ballet with the future generation throughout Connecticut.

Manning earned a Bachelor of Science in Ballet Performance and an Outside Field in Marketing from Indiana University and trained under their distinguished faculty. She had the joy of studying with Kyra Nichols, Carla Korbes, Michael Vernon, Shawn Stevens, Sarah Wroth, and Sasha Janes. She has trained across the country beginning with Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre and continuing with Brookline Ballet, Boston Ballet, Washington Ballet, Ballet Austin, Pennsylvania Ballet, and Orlando Ballet.

Manning has performed in George Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht Ballet and Valse Fantaisie, Jerome Robbins’ The Concert, Fanfare and Antique Epigraphs, Sandpaper Ballet by Mark Morris, Giselle by Petipa, Cinderella by Rafik Hegab, La Vie est Belle and The Fantastic Toyshop by Rachael Gnatowski, Sing Sing Sing and I Will Surivive by Christopher Fleming, and iterations of The Nutcracker choreographed by Jose Mateo, Michael Vernon, and Rafik Hegab.

Manning is dedicated to passing down the legacy of our art.
