Emma Rishel

Emma Rishel was born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where she started her ballet training at the age  of 6 with Marcia Dale Weary at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. During her time there she trained extensively with Leslie Hench, Theresa Crawford, Richard Cook, Darla Hoover, Laszlo  Berdo, Melinda Howe, and Laurie Jones. She had the honor to perform several full-length  ballets and works by George Balanchine such as The Nutcracker, Serenade, La Source,  Walpurgisnacht Ballet, Valse Fantasy, and Raymonda Variations. After completing high school  she then attended Mercyhurst University as a dance major under the direction of Tauna Hunter. While at Mercyhurst she was co-chair of the Outreach Team and performed regularly in dance department productions as well as with the Lake Erie Ballet Company. Upon graduating in 2013 she moved to New York and realized her passion for arts administration and non-profit work in the dance world. She gained valuable experience working for several years as a pointe shoe fitter for Freed of London, USA before transitioning to working as a project manager for the Jerome Robbins Foundation and Robbins Rights Trust. Emma is excited to pass on her  knowledge and love of dance and the arts to a new generation of students.

The School of New England Ballet Theatre offers Master Class opportunities year round.

NEBT Company Artists and guests are experienced dancers with years of knowledge and professional performance and teaching experience. In order to continue to make ballet more accessible to everyone, Company Artists and guests will come to your studio or school for a Master Class or Master Class Series.

Previously, we have taught just one ballet class and we have held a Master Class Series where there are three classes offered; ballet, contemporary and repertoire where students will learn NEBT original choreography. Students have the option to take one class or all three classes. We are also open to any other ideas you may have for this opportunity.
